Title - Crash Ride (Power Station #2)
Author - T.Gephart
Megan Winters had lusted over Troy Harris, drummer for international rock band Power Station, for years. Not being the type of girl who was invited backstage, her fantasies had stayed just that, fantasies. When her best friend unexpectedly starts dating one of the other band members it puts her on a crash course at war with her libido. Her solution— they need to have sex. Surely once she had scratched that itch, and saw the fantasy didn’t live up to the reality she could move on. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
Troy Harris vowed to stay away from Megs. The sexy, smart and funny blonde left his mind and his body feeling like a pretzel. No matter how attracted he was to her, she was a no-go zone. The best friend of his best friend’s girlfriend? Cue the reality show. But when she gives him the chance to have a one-night no strings good time, there was no way he could turn that down. Maybe she was right. One night, and then they could go back to being just friends.
Both of them were delusional.
What it's all about
"Fuck, at this rate I was going to need her to repeat my full fucking name 'cause I sure as hell was having trouble remembering it."
What I thought
Troy is the drummer for Power Station and he's crushing on Megs who happens to be a bit of a super fan and he is her fave! They get along great, have amazing chemistry and have fab banter, but Troy is best mates with Dan and Megs is best mates with Ash. They don't want to risk messing up any dynamics or hurting people so they decide not to act on their "feelings".
Until DING *light bulb moment* they decide to have a one night stand to get it out of their systems and move on.
"Maybe it's he bad boy hang up or the allure of the forbidden, but the reasons why Troy and I shouldn't sleep together were making less and less sense."
PAH as if! What follows is a funny and energetic twist on denial.
"Troy and I were fine, now. I could even look at him and not need to stick panty liners under my armpits to stem the ridiculous amount of perspiration he seemed to induce. See? Totally, fucking, fine."
They do the deed (It's hot) then go about their regular lives, cracking on with just texts and calls. They're really funny and get along great so obviously its no big surprise that they end up bag together, in each others arms (and beds). Things all get a bit messy and a bit teary when stuff around them is happening, leaving us to wonder, can these two actually make it work? or should they just stay friends?
