Love Heals the Heart is a charming and funny tale about two people attempting to date. Of course, there are many disasters that throw our two main characters through many loops. The author is questioning if true love is enough to make it through the rough times. This book has many twists and turns to take you on a roller coaster ride. Love Heals the Heart is a story about Gracie and Dylan. They have a chance encounter in the beginning of the book and both feel a connection immediately. Dylan asks Gracie out and of course things don't turn out like planned. There are many funny situations in this book to have you laughing out loud. These two definitely make a hilarious duo. Along with the two main characters, Gracie and Dylan, there are two minor characters. Gracie's best friend is Trish, who is a wonderfully hilarious character on her own. She's definitely the type of friend a girl wants to have. She's fiercely loyal, blunt, very honest, and says some of the funniest things at the best times. She's also got a temper that men need to watch out for. Then you've got Justin, who is Dylan's best friend and partner as they are both detectives. Justin has a temper and a not to be pushed around attitude. Putting him and Trish in a room together ensures that there will be lots of bickering for them, but lots of laughter for the other characters and us readers. This story is written pretty well, but I feel like there's too much crammed into a small amount of time. I love how Dylan and Gracie get to know each other in the funny situations they go through, but I think some of these plot twists can get a little crazy and take away from the main story. There are at least four plots in this book. I think some of them were very important, but I think others could have either been eliminated or at least pushed off into another book. With that being said, I actually really like this book. I like any books that will make me laugh. I look forward to reading Trish and Justin's story. Overall, I thought this is a pretty good book. I had to mark down just for the fact there was way too much going on, but the other didn't amazing job at writing a funny story that wasn't corny. I really love the characters and how they were developed. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends.
"What would you expect me to do? Play tiddly winks or Parcheesi with the bottle of crazy sauce like her? Oh hell no, she got handcuffed which is exactly what she was asking for!" Justin, Love Heals the Heart
"Why is Gracie toting around a 72 count box of size XXL condoms in her purse? I'm not a small man by any means, but there's no way in hell my pecker warrants a size XXL condom." Dylan, Love Heals the Heart
"Doug needs to know I'm not home licking any wounds and could care less that he's dipping his little bitty pecker in that nasty woman's coochie." Trish, Love Heals the Heart
