REVIEW - Protecting The Pince - Dana Volney

TITLE - Protecting The Prince
AUTHOR - Dana Volney

Synopsis:

Eliam Prince is finally where he wants to be in his late father’s shipping enterprise: at the helm and ready to navigate. However, when a mysterious car tries to run him off the road on his first day as CEO, it’s clear he needs a personal bodyguard—even if the idea annoys him to no end.

Winter Wyn has built a thriving personal security business after surviving a horrific tour in the Middle East. Eliam is just a routine middle-of-the-night call—until she arrives at his penthouse, where it’s clear her strict policy of not mixing business and pleasure with her clients is in serious trouble. Keeping this man safe—from sabotage, blackmailers, assassins, and his own stubborn pride—isn’t nearly as hard as protecting her own heart.

But as the stakes rise, Eliam and Winter have no choice but to break all the rules if they want to survive. Fans of Castle will love the sparks that fly on this most unlikely couple’s journey to their happily ever after.

My Review:

Is someone trying to kill you? That's okay, just call Winter and her team!

Winter is ex-military gone private security. She gets paid to protect high profile clients. Although she never expected or saw Eliam Prince coming. Winter never expected to have feelings for another man after losing her fiancĂ© on their final mission overseas. She's jaded and out of turn with everyone around her.

Eliam Prince finally got what he wanted. He finally got his stepfather out of his family business. It should be a glorious day, that is until someone tries to kill him. After taking advice from a trusted friend he hires Winter. Only when he hires her company he doesn't realize that Winter is a female, let alone an attractive one.

So Winter and Eliam embark on a journey full of attempts on their lives and hot sex. Can Eliam handle a woman as hard headed and tough like Winter? Can Winter deal with the guilt she has when she's with Eliam, and get over the feelings of betrayal.

Dana Volney did a knock out job with this book. Protecting the Prince had plenty of action in and out of the bedroom. You never knew when an attack would happen or if Eliam would be taking Winter against the wall. You watched both Eliam and Winter transform throughout the book into more well rounded characters. You couldn't help but hope for these two to make it, not only to make it out alive, but to make it as a couple. The odds were stacked against them. This book also served as a reminder that sometimes polar opposites make the best matches.

Here are some of my favorite moments from the book;

“Knowing that someone in the world cared for you on a deeper level, wanted to know what made you laugh, cry, or shout during your day, and kissed you like you were of one mind and soul — it changed a person.”

“He peered into her eyes and knew a shift had taken place — he no longer viewed her as someone he wanted to be around who made him a better person. She was someone he couldn't live without.”
