REVIEW:

Bullets & Bonfires is just what I needed! This book had everything I look for in a book. A strong female lead, a sexy alpha male, humour, and lots and lots of action. This book was a page turning for me. Just thinking about this book makes me want to go back and reread it over and over again!

I really liked what this book was about. The title jumped out at me which made me want to read it. I love bonfires and I love my guns. I thought this book is perfect for me. Boy was I right. This plot starts off with Liam, a sheriff’s officer stopping a speeding motorist only to find it is Brianna, his best friends younger sister. She has unexpectedly moved home and he is now tasked with looking after her. What he doesn’t know is Brianna is hiding some secrets that she thinks are buried, but as with most secrets, they don’t always stay that way.

The characters in this book are very realistic. Liam is a wonderful male character. He is what an alpha male should be. He is strong and protective, but not overbearing and borderline abusive. I loved this about his character. I also loved how he tries to take a higher moral ground on things. I think this is important in a hero. Brianna is an amazing character as well. While she does not believe so, she is a strong person. She has lived through a terrible situation and is just now trying to rebuild her life. I think she is a good character for women to look up to.

The heat in this book is scorching. These characters have a history, and not all good. They both fight their attraction towards one another for their own reasons, but you can tell it is hard for each of them. Once they finally succumb, it is like fireworks on the 4th of July. If you like a lot of heat in your books, then this is the book for you.

The writing style is done very well. I love how there is use of flashbacks to show events that happened before this timeline. I also love the dual point of view so we can see both characters versions of the story. I think this adds a layer the story needed to truly be amazing. I also just really enjoy the way the author writes. It is easy and clear to understand what the author is trying to convey.

Overall, how can you not love a story about hot males, fire, and guns? This book was truly magnificent and I am so glad I was able to read it. I loved the characters and the story. I would like to see where these characters land a few years down the road. I like knowing what happens to the characters after the story ends.
